Concord resident Dick Waters appears on the first episode of Sound Off, a forum for members of the Concord and Carlisle community to express themselves on any topic they choose. From political to cultural to personal, any topic is welcome on Sound Off.

Elliot Lilien Presents Brahms

Elliot Lilien returns to the Carlisle Gleason Public Library for a series about Johannes Brahms (1833-1897). This series is a consideration of Brahms as a composer, with heavy emphasis on his method. For music lovers and those that want to become better listeners. Elliot Lilien Presents Johannes Brahms was produced by CCTV volunteer Dave Ives and will air for the next eight weeks beginning Saturday, March 22nd at 8:00 PM with encore presentations Monday at 6:00 PM, Tuesday at 3:00 PM, Wednesday at 8:00 PM, Thursday at 10:30 PM and Friday at 9:00 AM.

CCPI Tapes Forum

Regine Ryder, of the Concord/Carlisle Parents Initiative (CCPI), leads a forum on January 10th on Teen Driving Safety. Ryder, together with other CCPI members, engaged in video production training at CCTV to turn the forum into a television show. Graphics for the show were done by Priscilla Sturges.

CCTV has accomplished a wonderful year for local access television in Concord and Carlisle. We complete our third year in good shape to capitalize on the hard work behind us
as 2008 arrives. Our membership and their participation is truly the foundation of this strong and positive community-based media initiative.

Please join us as recognize those community members who have participated in the creative process and produced unique television programming for all of Concord and Carlisle.

Green Chemistry

"The Bridge" Get Notorius

Guitar and fiddle duo Larry Unger and Eden MacAdam-Somer make up the band Notorious, a featured act on CCTV's "The Bridge". Unger and MacAdam perform traditional folk music from Yiddish vaudeville to Romanian gypsy as well as original pieces. "The Bridge" is a collaborative effort between Opendoortv.org, Ricart Prats and members of the Concord/Carlisle community who volunteered as crew. Julie Dougherty on the Bridge

Salem-based folksinger Julie Dougherty performed her original music on CCTV's "The Bridge". Imbued with feeling and edge, Dougherty's music calls to mind folk icons such as Joni Mitchell and Joan Armatrading. Her songs take on topics from Hurricane Katrina to love. She performs her music with guitarist Woody Woodward. Patrick DeCoste, a Boston based guitarist, performed at CCTV's "The Bridge" one week before appearing at Shea Stadium to perform the Star Spangled Banner before thousands! DeCoste performs original songs which combine funk, blues and folk styles. A unique, versatile and intensely talented guitarist, DeCoste shares songs from his new CD "Inside the Unsaid" on "The Bridge." "The Bridge" music show debuts

CCTV's concert series "The Bridge" debuts September 3rd with a kick-off performance by Deborah Rocha. Rocha, a West Newton-based musician, specializes in Brazilian music and has a breadth of musical styles - from waltz to salsa. CCTV's "The Bridge" was a collaborative effort between Opendoortv.org and members of the Concord/Carlisle community who volunteered as crew. Tune in for Deborah Rocha's performance on Monday night at 10pm, Wednesday at 6pm, Thursday at 10:30pm and Friday at 8:30am.

Who Cares?! Hits the Air
CCTV producer Terri Ackerman brings her new show Who Cares?! to channel 8 beginning Monday, May 21st at 7:00PM. Who Cares?! profiles people in Concord and Carlisle who are truly making a difference in the community. Terri's first show explores CERT, Concord Emergency Response Team, and how they are ready for any emergency in the area.

Debbie Bier, CERT Coordinator, Fire Chief Ken Willette and host Terri Ackerman discuss some of the tools used to deal with emergency situations in our community.

TOWN MEETINGS

Thanks to the efforts of CCTV's volunteer crew, the Concord Annual Town Meetings aired live on channel 9 on April 23rd, 24th and 25th. The following Monday, the Carlisle crew taped the Carlisle Annual Town Meeting for playback on channel 9. Nearly 17 hours of meeting coverage was produced in the four evenings. The new Anycast system was a great addition to CCTV's production arsenal providing camera switching and graphics for the productions.Volunteer crew and CCTV board members who donated their time to CCTV's coverage included
Ian Connor, Lee Ann Kay, Will Cavanaugh, Shawna Reid, Robin Cicchetti, Angela Mollet, Becky Shannon, Dave Ives, Judy Terry, Genine Tillotson, Lynn Lori and Adetola Sylvan, Chris Davies, Nico and Carl Calabria, John Horvath, Martha Patten, Mark and Megan Garvey, Sam Lee, Meredith Popolo, and Tom Petersen, from Chelmsford Telemedia, provided outstanding tech support.
